Appointment Confirmations & Reminders

SwipeSimple Appointments will automatically send your customers a confirmation email and/or text message when an appointment is booked. You can set up two extra reminders to help your customers remember their appointments. This helps reduce no-shows and last-minute cancelations, saving you time on managing reminders yourself. 

How to enable Reminders

  • The options for reminders can be found under Settings > Booking Policies
  • These settings control when reminders are sent. In addition to the confirmation email/text, you can send up to two additional reminders. 
  • These reminders can be configured to be sent out from 1 week to 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. You can also disable them via these settings. You will find the following options:

    1. First Reminder Settings
      1. How many hours before the appointment (up to a week) before sending the first reminder.
    2. Second Reminder Settings
      1. How many hours before the appointment (up to 15 minutes) before sending the second reminder.
    3. Note: A good general rule of thumb is to send the first reminder within 48-24 hours of the appointment and the second reminder within 12 hours. 
  1. In addition to the reminder settings, you will also see options for the following
    1. Enable SMS Reminder to Staff
      1. This sends reminders to the user assigned to the appointment.
    2. Enable Reschedule Link for Reminder SMS
      1. This allows customers to reschedule their appointments via the reminder text. 
    3. SMS & Email Custom Message
      1. These options allow you to add a custom message to the default messages. 

Default Messaging Examples

Below are screenshots of the default confirmation and reminder emails/texts. You can add custom messaging to each one by going to Settings > Booking Policies and adding your custom message to the Custom Email Message field.
