Customers on Mobile

Customers on Mobile allows SwipeSimple users to easily manage and create customers, save a card for future use, and process transactions with saved credit cards right from their mobile devices. 

Managing Customers

From the SwipeSimple’s menu, tap on "Customers" to view a list of all previously created customers.

Add a new customer by tapping the + button in the upper right hand corner and complete the form, tapping Save when finished. 

     

 

Tap on any customer’s name to view their details, including: 

  • Customer Name
  • Email
  • Phone Number
  • Address
  • Saved cards on file

Customer details can be edited directly from this list. Tap the Edit button in the customer profile to update any demographic details about the customer, or you can initiate correspondence to your customer directly from their profile by tapping the options to message, call, or email. As long as a corresponding phone number or email address is listed in the profile, SwipeSimple will route you to begin a conversation with your customer right from your mobile device.

Tap on any saved card to update details such as expiration date or billing address. Note that the card number is not editable once saved; if the customer’s card number has changed you will need to save a new card to the customer. To replace saved card information for an existing customer, log into SwipeSimple web, select Customers and search for your Customer Name. From the Cards tab, select +Add a new card and complete the necessary fields. You may delete the old card from this same tab. 

Working with Saved Cards on Mobile

To save a new card during a mobile transaction, users will need to enable this feature in account settings. This can be done directly in the mobile application by navigating to Settings > Save Card or it can be enabled by logging into SwipeSimple.com and modifying Save Card account settings, selecting Yes for the Ask to Save Card on Mobile

To charge a saved card during a mobile transaction, users will need to enable this feature in account settings. This can be done directly in the mobile application by navigating to Settings > Card on File or it can be enabled by logging into SwipeSimple.com and modifying Save Card account settings, selecting Yes for the Prompt to use Saved Cards on Mobile Transactions

How to charge a saved card during a transaction:

  • Select the ‘Card on File’ option when processing a transaction.
  • Choose the customer from the list of saved customers.
  • Select the saved card you wish to charge.
  • Proceed to complete the transaction.
  • Tap the receipt button to send an email or SMS receipt to the customer. On the mobile application, SwipeSimple will populate the customer’s contact information if it’s saved to the customer contact. 

How to save a new card on file during a transaction:

  • Check the ‘Save Card’ box when selecting the payment method.
  • After completing the transaction, you can edit the customer profile on the Approved screen by selecting “Edit”.
  • Complete the form with customer details such as name, email, phone, and address.
  • Once the information is saved, the customer profile will be updated with the new card details.

Edit Customer Details after a transaction

It may be helpful to add customer details during the transaction flow without saving a card on file. SwipeSimple makes this easy to do from the Transaction Details window. From the transaction results screen, tap Details, then tap on the Customer name. SwipeSimple will automatically create a customer profile for every transaction. If the cardholder name is not available, it will assign the customer a number. Choose add phone number, email, address and modify the customer name from this screen and save. Once contact information is saved, future transactions for this customer using the same card will populate a customer’s phone number or email address when sending a receipt on the SwipeSimple application.
