The SwipeSimple mobile application offers the option to use an Offline Mode that can be used if you are unable to connect to a WiFi or cellular data while processing transactions. This allows merchants to accept payments even when they don't have an internet connection, such as an outdoor event or in a remote location. SwipeSimple limits the total number of transactions allowed in Offline Mode to 50.
Transactions captured offline are saved until connectivity is regained and will automatically process when the mobile device goes back online and the app is opened. Offline Mode captures swiped or keyed payments without an internet connection that will be processed the next time WiFi or cellular data is available. Offline Mode is incompatible with dip (EMV) or tap (NFC) transactions.
For enhanced security, we recommend establishing a maximum transaction amount for offline transactions. Due to the inherent risks associated with offline processing, transactions conducted in Offline Mode remain pending approval or decline until network connectivity is restored, enabling communication with the card issuer's bank.
Transactions taken in Offline Mode will be displayed in a Pending Transactions tab in the main menu. Once a mobile device is back online and the transactions processed, this will disappear, and transaction results will appear in Transaction History
Offline transactions expire 30 days after capture if they are not processed.
*This feature is only available for the SwipeSimple Mobile Application, and not included with the SwipeSimple Terminal or Register products.
