View and edit items in the cart

View items in cart

Tap the Cart tab to view items added to the sale.

The cart will show the number of items, the total price for each item, whether an individual item has tax (indicated by a T) or a discount applied, and whether a discount is applied to the entire sale.

Select the + Add Ref # button to add a reference number to the transaction. Reference numbers can be alphanumeric up to 255 characters but are subject to truncation due to some processing requirements.

A quick item that has yet to be added to the cart will be shown in gray. You can click on it to to add it to the cart.
 

Edit an item

• A Quick Item can be renamed; tap on your selected Quick Item, enter a new name, and then select “Rename.” Please note that renaming an item will reflect the new item name on the digital receipt but will not add a new item to your catalog or reflect in item reporting.

• The price of a Quick Item or Item Catalog Item can also be edited on the cart page. Click on the Unit Price and change the dollar amount. Click “Set” to update the price. 
  • This is a useful feature for merchants who utilize the Item Catalog, but may need to manually change the prices for various reasons. This will not update the price of the item in the catalog, just for this particular sale. 
    • Important Notes:
      • This functionality is currently only available on iOS or the Virtual Terminal. (Android coming soon!)
      • Must be using SwipeSimple V 7.24.0 or higher.
      • Line Items can be reduced to $0 manually or by utilizing a discount, but it isn’t possible to do a $0 sale. You must have at least one line item for a minimum value of $.01 to complete the sale. 
• Change the quantity of an item by tapping on it and selecting - or  +.       
• Tap on any item to apply a discount to that Item.
• You can remove an item by tapping on it and selecting "Remove Item." To clear the entire cart, select the "Clear Cart" button.
