Dynamic item pricing lets you sell items whose price changes from sale to sale while keeping them in your Item Catalog with their name, category, and tax settings intact. Instead of a fixed price, a dynamically priced item asks for its price at the moment you add it to a sale. This is useful for market-priced goods, items sold by weight, seasonal produce, and similar variable-priced products. Some payment providers refer to this as "variable pricing."

How to sell a dynamically priced item
Selling a dynamically priced item
When you add a dynamically priced item to the cart, you are prompted to enter its unit price for that sale. After you confirm, the item appears in the cart like any other item: you can change its quantity, apply a discount, or edit the price. The price you enter applies only to that sale and does not change the item in your catalog. See View and edit items in the cart.
Reporting A dynamically priced item appears in your reports as a normal line item, using the price entered at the time of sale. No special setup or report view is required. Items Report
