SwipeSimple allows for easy management of both inventory and regular services using the Item Catalog. Items can be used in Virtual Terminal, Payment Links, Invoices, and both Terminal and Mobile SwipeSimple applications. SwipeSimple supports up to 1,000,000 items in your catalog. Create and edit your items in the Item Catalog on the SwipeSimple Dashboard by following this guide.
Helpful Navigation Tips:
- Organize the order of your inventory items based on key details. For example, click on Price to order items based on their prices.
- To search for a specific item, type in any of the key details in the search field on the right-hand side of the screen.
Add new item(s):
Select the Add New Item button to add new items to your inventory. You may add items individually or find details to upload inventory in bulk by selecting Import Items.
Add item information such as:
- Image (File size: less than 500Kb)
- Price of item or set Dynamic Pricing
- SKU
- Category & Modifier Groups (if applicable)*
- Sales Tax
- Inventory Tracking*

📌 Track Inventory: To enter a quantity of products in stock, turn on the Keep track of Inventory function. Setting an Item to Dynamic Pricing
Dynamic pricing lets you sell items whose price changes from sale to sale. For example, market-priced goods, produce sold by weight, or scrap materials. This allows you to keep the item's name, category, and tax settings in your catalog, while still adjusting the price to current rates at time of sale.
On the Add New Item or Edit Item page, turn on the Dynamic Pricing toggle. When Dynamic Pricing is on, the fixed Price field is disabled, because the price is entered at the time of each sale instead. Save the item as usual.
When a dynamically priced item is added to a sale on a supported app, the user is prompted to enter the unit price for that sale. Dynamic pricing is available on the Web Dashboard and the iOS app; Android support will follow in a later release. For how this works during a sale, see Dynamic Item Pricing.
Edit item(s):
Edit an item’s image, name, SKU, description, price, category, taxability, tracking, count on hand, and status by clicking on the item’s name in the catalog table.|
To edit items in bulk, select the checkboxes on the left-hand side. Once selected, you can edit the items’ category, taxability, tracking, and status by selecting Edit Item(s).
Delete Items
Items may be deleted by clicking the Delete button in the rightmost column. Items that are deleted cannot be recovered. To delete items in bulk, select the checkboxes on the left-hand side and click Delete Item(s) at the top of the inventory list.
| ✅ Best Practice — Use “Removed” Status Instead of Deleting: To retain historical reporting of items no longer in your inventory, best practice recommends updating the item’s status from Active to Removed. Select the checkbox on the left-hand side and choose Edit Item(s) > Status > Removed. The item will no longer appear in your Item Catalog for sales but will retain its reporting accuracy in the Items Report. |
Export items list in Excel format:
Click Export items, this will automatically download your current inventory items in an Excel file. You can update this Excel file and re import it with changes in order to make bulk changes to items. This is useful for restocking or making changes to pricing en masse.
