USB printing is available with the Star Micronics TSP 143iiiU printer for merchants on Standard, Premium, or the legacy Register Software Package.
Connect to a Tablet or phone:
The Star Micronics TSP143IIIU receipt printer is also compatible with BYOD iOS and Android devices.
To connect the device:
- Plug the iOS or Android device into the Star Micronics TSP143IIIU printer via a USB-A to USB-C, USB-A to Lightning, or USB-A to micro USB. Micro USB devices require a USB OTG specific cable.
- Open the SwipeSimple App on the Android or iOS Device
- Navigate to Settings from the side menu
- If prompted “Allow SwipeSimple to access Star TSP 143IIIu?“, select OK
- Choose Device Pairing from Settings
- Under Printers, select TSP143IIIU
- Print a test receipt to ensure the device is connected then select Make Default Printer
Connect to a PAX Aries 8:
- Plug the Aries 8 into the Star Micronics TSP143IIIU printer via a USB-A to USB-B cable
- Open the SwipeSimple App on the Aries 8 device
- Navigate to Settings from the side menu
- If prompted “Allow SwipeSimple to access Star TSP 143IIIU?“, select OK
- Choose Device Pairing from Settings
- Under Printers, select TSP143IIIU
- Print a test receipt to ensure the device is connected then select Make Default Printer
Connect to cash drawer (optional)
Connect the printer’s serial cable to the serial port on the CD3-1313 or CD3-1616. Now when prompting for cash, the cash drawer will automatically spring open.
