SwipeSimple card readers pair directly in the SwipeSimple application using bluetooth low energy pairing functionality. Bluetooth card readers that are paired in a device's bluetooth settings rather than directly in SwipeSimple may experience connectivity issues.
To set up a card reader, users can simply begin a transaction from the New Charge screen and follow the prompts. Select Yes when asked if you plan to use a reader, allow bluetooth permissions, and SwipeSimple will do the work. As long as a SwipeSimple card reader is nearby and powered on, SwipeSimple will automatically connect and set your default reader.
Another way to pair a reader or printer is through Device Pairing Settings.
From the SwipeSimple menu, go to the Settings page and tap Device Pairing to view the list of available card readers and printers that your device can be connected to. To pair a reader during the transaction workflow, ensure Use Bluetooth Reader is enabled.
If you are using a B200, B250, or B350, card reader the four digits represent the last four digits of your card reader’s serial number. If you use multiple readers, many merchants find it helpful to label their card readers with these four numbers with a large label for ease of use.
In the example below, you'll see two available readers have been identified by SwipeSimple.
Set Default Devices
To pair and set a reader as the default reader for your device, simply tap on the reader name as listed in Device Pairing
To set a default printer, select the printer by tapping on it and then tap Set Default Printer. To print a test receipt select a printer and tap Print Test Receipt.
Multiple Readers
Multiple readers on one device: A single device can have multiple card readers paired and saved, but only one reader can be actively connected at a time. Additionally, a Bluetooth reader can only be connected to one device at a time, so the same reader cannot be used simultaneously on multiple devices.
