You can create percentage-off or dollar-off discounts and apply them to transactions or individual items. Discounts are always applied before sales tax is calculated and will appear on printed and digital receipts.
Where Discounts Can Be Used
Discounts created in your SwipeSimple account can be applied in:
Mobile App (iOS / Android)
Terminal App (SwipeSimple Terminal devices)
Virtual Terminal (on the web dashboard)
Invoices (when sending an invoice through SwipeSimple)
Creating Discounts
You’ll need Admin access to create, edit, or delete discounts. To view the list of available discounts, tap on the Item Catalog tab, and Discounts on the left panel.

On the Web Dashboard:
Go to Items → Discounts.
Click Create Discount.

Enter:
Name
Type ($ or %)
Amount
Save
On the Mobile App:
Tap Menu → Item Catalog → New → Create Discount.
Name the discount, select $ or %, set amount.
Tap Create Discount.
Applying discounts to a transaction
To a Full Transaction (Virtual Terminal & Invoices)
Build your sale or invoice by adding items or an amount.
Use the Discounts drop-down menu in the sale or invoice builder.
Select the discount(s) to apply to the entire transaction.
Note: Item-level discounts are not available in the Virtual Terminal or Invoices — only transaction-level discounts can be applied in these tools.
To a Full Transaction (Mobile App & Terminal App)
In the Sale Builder, go to the Discounts tab.
Select the discount(s) you want — they will apply to the entire transaction.
Multiple discounts can be applied and are calculated in the order selected.
Applying Multiple Discounts (Mobile App and Terminal App)
To apply multiple discounts to the transaction, select your discounts by tapping on the discount names.
Multiple discounts are applied in the order in which they are added.
To Individual Items (Mobile App & Terminal App Only)
Tap the item in the cart.
Tap Add Item Discount and choose the discount.
To remove, edit the item and uncheck the discount.
Remove Discount from Cart
Tap on “Remove” in the top right corner of the screen
*Make sure the blue check mark is next to the discount you want to remove.
